What you are setting up
Click WISP is our own router software on our own hardware. The box arrives with the hotspot, the login page and the billing already on it.
You are not configuring it. You are pairing it to your account, which is one code typed once.
How it differs from using your own MikroTik
| Click WISP | WISP Billing | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | A Click OS appliance from us | Your own MikroTik |
| Setup | Paste one activation token | Run a setup file, reset the router |
| MikroTik licence | Not needed | Yours already |
| Pricing | Revenue share, nothing upfront | Revenue share, nothing upfront |
Everything after setup (packages, login page, customers, money) is identical. The manual sections below this one are the same for both.
What you need
- A Click OS appliance
- Your account set up (see Create your account)
- An internet line at the site
- Ten minutes
The appliances
Fanless mini PCs, in two- and four-port versions. The extra ports matter if you want a separate network for your own equipment alongside the customer one.
They also run Click Hotel and Click Enterprise, so a box bought for one can be moved to another later.
The order it goes in
- Activate your box
- Create Packages and a login page
- Test it yourself with a real purchase
Steps 2 and 3 can be done before the box arrives. Then it has something to sell the moment it comes online.
